07 Holy Trinity Church Regeneration, Hull

We frustratingly came second in a national design competition to regenerate Holy Trinity Church in Hull.

We believe that good design, like life itself, is about the 'journey'. We see our proposals as adding value to an already unique attraction, through the delicate insertion of contemporary structures which allow the visitor to use the building in various ways. These exquisitely detailed installations become features of the 'journey' which add up to a whole that is "more than the sum of its parts".

These separate pieces of architecture reveal themselves one at a time, hiding, then revealing vistas and framed views of the existing fabric, enhancing the experience. 'Dwell spots' are set on the natural axis of the church, encouraging the study of the wonderful Gothic masonry.
